What are the advantages of dental therapy in Hungary?
It is no surprise that the saving summing up to an average of 50-70% of the costs compared to that in Western-Europe is a considerable aspect when it comes to advantages. But it is not the only one.
Because of this significant gap in costs you have the opportunity to choose a therapy of higher standard that is more modern and trustworthy while still saving significant sums of money. In other words: ‘For a little more you get much more’.
Our dentists have experience in medical attendance with foreigners, according to the norms and standards of European health insurance companies. At the same time we run these therapies in a fast and effective way due to the toolbox of experience, equipment and appropriate surgery hours we apply. Our dental technology laboratory is located at the place, always maintaining the necessary timeframe for the previously scheduled work and being able to adjust any necessary changes based on the needs articulated by the patient and the consultant.
You can also enjoy yourself as a tourist as well, while staying in Hungary. Budapest offers a wide range of sights, high standards of hospitality, but you can also get a taste of the countryside’s atmosphere during entertaining trips.

To whom do we offer dental therapy abroad?
In theory dental therapy abroad can be offered to basically anyone, but in practice there are certain cases when it is worth to consider it carefully. In case you suffer from acute disorders (cardio-vascular, psychiatric-neurologic disorders that make longer journeys or dental therapy intolerable) you should not decide on this type of therapy, or should ensure a wider timeframe for it then usual. If you are already receiving treatment for some kind of paradonthologic problem, you are strongly advised to consult your specialist before starting the journey.

Which therapy would it be worth to be done abroad?
Any kind of dental therapy can be carried out abroad, but it is to consider whether it was practical to travel abroad for one or two fillings while the total cost of such treatment (travel + accommodation + treatment) is likely to surpass the total cost of a local therapy at home. Also for a single orthodontic treatment per month it is true that such solution could prove to be uncomfortable.
We can say that in case of a therapy involving several teeth, or requiring dental prosthesis and a possible implantation we would offer you to consult our surgery.

How much time does the therapy take?
Most therapies and treatments take no more than a week (5 working days). In certain cases two consecutive journeys are necessary. If there is a need for tooth extraction it is advised to have it done at your local dentist and then visit us only after the healing period is over, because general practice indicates that neither permanent dental prosthesis, nor implantation can be safely done right after a tooth extraction.

What are the costs of a dental therapy in Hungary?
As there is a wide range of therapies the costs also vary. In practice we can say that compared to Western-European costs you can save up to 50-70% with our treatment. It is important to seek information already before your journey. Please ask for a quotation from us! If you can describe your problem thoroughly or you can submit a treatment plan designed by your local dentist, we can draw up a calculation of likely costs for you.

How should I prepare for the treatment/journey?
You should prepare for the journey in the usual manner!
Please be well-informed about your allergies, disorders and other diseases!
Please bring your usual medicines, painkillers with you!
You should contact us before your journey and get a clear understanding of the expected therapy!
Please ask for a treatment plan and a quotation beforehand!
Please make an appointment for the therapy!
In case you need a therapy of front teeth or an esthetic treatment, you are advised to bring some earlier ‘smiley’ pictures of you. You should have moderate expectations regarding pictures taken from newspapers: just as some clothes of a model from a fashion catalogue may not fit your style, it is also possible that the chosen tooth structure would not fit either. Of course we can make use of these as a point of reference.

What substances and equipment do we use during therapy?
We at Dentalia Dental Surgery use substances and equipment of outstanding quality and fitting European standards only.

A friend of mine had a dental bridge done within a week in Hungary, while a local dentist had suggested it would take several weeks at home. How is this possible?
Fast treatment has several elements:
We have all necessary equipment (X-ray machines, intraortal cameras) for setting a diagnosis at the surgery, so shortly after arrival we can present you the treatment plan.
Our dentists have the necessary experience and practice, and possibly carry out more than one element of your treatment at a time, and (especially if you previously indicate that you only stay for a shorter period of time in Hungary) we can provide more time for your treatment already at the first time.
We ensure priority in our dental laboratory – especially for scheduled works –, and during try-outs we can adapt to any necessary change as our dental technician is at our disposal on the spot.
Therapy begins already during our first appointment. (This is why it is of outstanding importance that you get informed beforehand on what the therapy would include and require.)

I am sensitive to hygiene – what should I expect?
We are also very particular about hygiene, and we are also under strict EU provisions. We apply disposable protecting equipment and modern disinfecting and sterilizing equipment. As a unique feature, we employ a professional public hygiene specialist and our colleagues also attend regular training and further education in this field as well.

I would like to make an appointment. When is it possible?
We are open every working day during the week, but a prescheduled appointment is necessary. In case you arrive from abroad, we kindly advise you to start your therapy on Monday as most dental technology work require 5 days to be completed, so you can already spend the weekend at home.
